Independent Robot Reviewer & Technology Analyst · RobotTesters
Background
I'm a robot enthusiast who spent the first part of my career as a lawyer and the second building software products. I grew up reading every Asimov story ever written — left deeply marked by R. Daneel Olivaw and R. Giskard Reventlov. I spent 25 years convinced this day would never come. Then it did.
When humanoid and companion robots started shipping to real people, I realised that most existing reviews were written by generalists covering everything from smartphones to blenders. Nobody was doing the slow, obsessive evaluation that robots actually deserve. So I built RobotTesters to do exactly that.

How I review robots
Every robot on RobotTesters is evaluated through the same transparent, weighted scoring framework — no subjective impressions, no point shaving to keep manufacturers happy. When I have physical access to a robot, the review is marked Hands-on tested and covers every subcategory, including those that can only be assessed through real use. When I don't yet have hands-on time, I produce a Specs-based score derived from manufacturer data and verified secondary sources, with pending subcategories excluded from the weighted average and flagged explicitly.
I upgrade specs-based reviews to hands-on as I get access to each platform. The scoring system is fully documented — categories, subcategory weights, and evaluation criteria — so you can judge for yourself whether a score makes sense.

Beyond scores, I write longer-form analysis on the robotics industry — market dynamics, technical deep-dives, and opinion pieces on where this technology is heading. All articles are published under my name on RobotTesters and are linked from each robot review they relate to.
