EngineAI (众擎机器人) is a Shenzhen humanoid startup founded in 2023 by Zhao Tongyang, the grassroots, vocational-college founder who built XPeng's first humanoid before leaving to start his own company. EngineAI made its name with stunts — robots performing the world's first humanoid front flip and, memorably, kicking their own CEO on camera — behind a reported $1.5 billion valuation. Its lineup spans research bipeds like the SE01 and PM01 and the T800, a 173 cm general-purpose humanoid in Basic (25 DOF), Pro (43 DOF) and Max (46 DOF) editions.
