Figure AI was founded in 2022 in Sunnyvale, California, by Brett Adcock (formerly of Archer Aviation and Vettery). In just two years it became the most well-funded humanoid company in the world, raising over $675 million from OpenAI, Microsoft, Nvidia, Amazon, Intel Capital, and others. Figure 03 — released in October 2025 and named TIME's Best Invention of the Year — is the first humanoid designed for everyday home use, with wireless self-charging and the Helix 02 AI model enabling real household tasks. The Figure 02 helped produce 30,000 cars at BMW. Figure's BotQ manufacturing facility targets 12,000 units per year, making it the first humanoid company to design for mass production.
