Ruko R1 Mini Robot Dog
A $50 palm-sized stunt dog that flips, self-rights and takes orders from a gesture watch — a toy, not a robot, and a very good one
Shenzhen drone maker turned robot-toy brand — stunt dogs and programmable bots under $100
Ruko was founded in Shenzhen in 2017 by Luo Dazhong and Lian Jing, a couple who had been selling remote-control toys online since 2009, and registered the brand internationally the same year to sell directly to US and European families through Amazon. It started with consumer camera drones such as the F11 series and moved into robot toys as that category grew; the company says it has sold more than 500,000 drones and over a million smart toys in the United States, and it trades through a Hong Kong entity with 24/7 phone support. Its robots are toys first: remote and gesture-controlled bots and dogs for children aged three and up, priced between $40 and $100, with no AI, cameras or apps. The R1 Mini Robot Dog, launched in September 2026, is the first Ruko product in our catalog.
