Unitree put G1+ on the site on 14 September. The international list price is $15,000, tax and shipping excluded. The G1 is still $13,500 on the same terms. That is $1,500 more, about eleven percent, for two extra degrees of freedom in the neck, a claimed 3 kg arm, hotter motors that run cooler at the same torque, and a denser sensor stack.
I think that is a hardware revision, not a new class of robot. Keep the G1 if you do not need the head to turn. Pay the extra if you do.

$15,000 versus $13,500 — eleven percent more
Unitree's own G1+ page prints US $15K. The G1 page still prints US $13.5K. The shop listing for G1 is $13,500.00. Those are manufacturer stickers, not street prices, and they do not include freight. Shipping on the G1 shop page is quoted between $300 and $1,200, with the buyer handling customs.
The Hong Kong Standard reported the China prices as 95,000 yuan including tax for G1+ and 85,000 yuan for G1. Do not convert those into the dollar gap and call it a bargain. Inclusive-of-tax yuan and exclusive-of-tax dollars are not the same column.

Arm load, Unitree says, varies a lot with posture. Treat ~3 kg as a peak in a favourable pose, not a crate you can carry around the lab. Peak motor torque going up 110% at the shoulder and waist is a motor number. It is not a 110% increase in what the whole robot can pick up.
The two extra joints are in the neck
That is the change you can see. Pitch from −25° to 36°, yaw ±110°. A G1 looks where the torso points. A G1+ can look at a person, a marker, a table edge, without taking a step. For teleoperation and for any policy that needs to foveate — to point the cameras at the thing it is about to grasp — that is the upgrade.
The perception stack around that neck is denser too. Binocular camera, 60 mm baseline, 2 MP, 110° horizontal field of view. A wide-angle monocular at 1920×1080, 30 fps, 117° horizontal. Chest wide-angle and 3D lidar stay in the kit. The G1 sheet listed a depth camera and 3D lidar, and a four-microphone array with a 5 W speaker. G1+ lists six microphones, four front and two rear, with direction-of-arrival localisation, plus two 10 W waist speakers. There is a tap sensor in the head. Those are manufacturer claims. We have not measured them.
Peak torque is not what the arm can lift
Unitree says shoulder and waist peak torque is up 110%, arm peak torque up 43%, and heat at the same torque is down 72% / 30% / 28% at shoulder-waist, arm, and thigh. That is a cooling story as much as a strength story. A lab robot that can hold a pose without cooking the joint is more useful than a spec sheet that only wins a peak-torque screenshot.
$1,500 buys a turning head, cooler motors, and a thicker sensor stack. It does not buy you out of the G1's payload or the two-hour battery.
External power does not stretch the two-hour battery
Both robots still list about two hours on the 9,000 mAh pack. G1+ adds continuous external power for long research or demo sessions. That is a cable. Unplug it and you are back on the same class of battery. Do not read "endurance" on the marketing page as a bigger cell.
G1+ EDU is a quote, not a sticker
The base G1+ is 25 DOF, ~3 kg arm, 8-month warranty, no secondary development. G1+ EDU is 25 to 45 DOF depending on the options — extra waist, dexterous hands, wrist DOF — about 4 kg arm load, an 18-month warranty, and development support including compute modules such as NVIDIA Orin. Price: contact sales. The $15,000 number is not that robot.
Same split as the old G1. The shop page for G1 still says the standard unit does not support secondary development, and tells you to buy EDU if you need it. If you are a lab, you were never shopping the $13,500 SKU. If you are a hobbyist, you still are not getting an EDU quote at the list price.
Our catalog still sells the G1
We have not added G1+ as a scored robot. The G1 card still sits at $13,500. The official standing height on Unitree's G1 sheet is 1.32 m; our card still says 1.27 m. That is a catalog debt, not a reason to pretend G1+ has a score. Adding a new SKU means a price, a score, and a weekly-review pass. This piece is the launch note.
The rest of the family has not moved. The H2 / H1 / G1 / R1 / H2 Plus comparison still routes a cheap buyer to the R1 from $4,900. G1+ does not replace that. It sits $1,500 above G1 and a long way below H2. After the STAR Market listing, shipping a mid-cycle refresh on the volume platform is the move you would expect from Wang Xingxing: sell the hardware people can actually order.
Pay the $1,500 if the head has to turn
Last week's Figure Helix 2.5 result was a software claim on a robot you cannot buy. G1+ is the opposite. You can put $15,000 on a Unitree page today. You will not get a housekeeper. You will get a 35 kg, 1.34 m research platform with a neck, a 3 kg arm in the right pose, and a two-hour battery. I would buy G1+ over G1 for teleop and for any camera-in-the-head work. I would keep G1 if the budget is the constraint and the torso already points at the table.
